Polish archaeological project in Nakum
Welcome to the webpage of the Nakum Archaeological Project. Since 2006 the Maya site of Nakum located in the deep jungle of northeastern Guatemala has been a subject of investigations carried out by archaeologists from the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. Here you will find information concerning Nakum as well as brief description of recent research realized at this site. Investigations made by Polish-Guatemalan team resulted in several important discoveries which significantly enrich our knowledge about the ancient Maya civilization of Central America.
